Welcome to Axby Labs
Axby Labs is the home of my experimental software projects.
I created it to encourage me to be more structured when exploring new ideas, stop me making the same mistakes and help me to become better at building and launching new tools.
I also wanted to document the journey along the way, which was inspired by tinyprojects.dev.
In the past I've spent months building a solution without considering how to find users or validate an idea. I'll therefore try and keep the build time to a maximum of 2 weeks when starting new projects. This will probably restrict the types of ideas I can explore, but I think it's essential.
I also want to build projects that could run forever. In the past I've built solutions that needed to be shut down because they were either too expensive to keep running or they required too much maintenance. I'll therefore try and follow these rules:
- Affordable to run (no expensive hosting or subscriptions)
- Minimal maintenance (no 3rd party APIs)
- Can run on autopilot (no manual tasks)
